Featuring a remix from Italian producer Ayala, ‘Mixing Cultures’ is the latest single to be taken from ‘Sounds Of My Breath’, the new album by Kiko Navarro, issued on Afroterraneo Music.
‘Sounds Of My Breath’ is the felicitous result of a chance meeting on the island of Mallorca between Afroterraneo label founder Kiko Navarro and Nader Behravan, a teacher of the ancient Chinese practise of qigong.
Slow-mo 4x4 gem ‘Mixing Cultures’ reflects Kiko’s widening musical vistas as he began to discover more about Nader Behravan’s beloved qigong. The track blends sounds from Japan with those of South East Asia, as exemplified by its Balinese vocals.
Ayala (IT) retains the rich, evocative feel of ‘Mixing Cultures’, as he raises the tempo into Deep House territory, delivering a sensitive, percussive and spiritual remix.
To accompany the album and take listeners deeper into an interactive, experience, a series of video tutorials featuring Nader Behravan’s qigong and breath-work will be available at
SoundsofMyBreath.com, blended with music from the project. ‘Sounds Of My Breath’ will also be presented as a ‘Live Practise Session’, appearing on streaming platforms with Nader Behravan’s voice and breath-work featured throughout.
